Terms of Service

Last updated: February 28, 2026

These terms are provided for informational purposes during the beta period. Sections marked [PLACEHOLDER] require legal review before general availability.

1. Service Description

Isolate (“the Service”) is a browser-based security tool that analyzes links encountered in email clients (Gmail and Outlook Web) and, when a link is determined to be suspicious, opens it in a secure cloud container rather than directly in your browser. The Service is provided as a Chrome browser extension with a cloud-hosted analysis backend.

2. Eligibility

The Service is available to individuals and organizations who have been granted access through our invitation or beta program. You must be at least 18 years old or have the authority to bind your organization to these terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of link security analysis. You must not:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the extension or backend.
  • Use the isolation containers for any purpose other than safely viewing flagged content.
  • Share API keys or credentials with unauthorized users.
  • Submit deliberately malicious content to abuse rate limits or overload the service.
  • Use the Service to facilitate illegal activity.

4. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key and any credentials associated with your account. API keys should not be stored in plaintext or shared. Notify us immediately at security@isolateapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and performant, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues. During beta, features may change or be removed without notice.

6. Data Handling

Our collection, use, and protection of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. In summary: we collect minimal data necessary for threat detection, never store full URLs or email content, and automatically delete threat records after 90 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including the extension, backend, detection algorithms, and documentation, remain with Isolate. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology beyond the right to use the Service as described.

8. Limitation of Liability [PLACEHOLDER]

The Service is provided “as is” during the beta period. While we strive for accurate threat detection, we do not guarantee that all threats will be detected or that all flagged content is genuinely malicious. Isolate is a supplementary security tool and should not be your sole defense against online threats.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Isolate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate access at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms. Upon termination, you may request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms [PLACEHOLDER]

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address associated with your account. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law [PLACEHOLDER]

These terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
